Your First Visit to Our Twinsburg Practice

Your examination consists of several different tests to uncover the cause of your issue.Upon arriving in our office you will be greeted by one of the warm, smiling faces at our front desk. You will be asked to fill out some simple paper work to allow the doctor's to gain an idea of your health history.

A Time for Questions

You will then be escorted to a comfortable consultation room and shown a short video explaining chiropractic care and a little about our office. Upon finishing the video, you will be greeted by the doctor and will sit and talk about all of your health concern and health history. This is a great time to ask any questions you might have.

Your Examination

Next, someone from the front desk will escort you back to the examination room. Here you will have a complete examination to thoroughly address your health concerns. This examination includes instrumentation, which involves the running of an instrument called a Nervoscope down your spine. The Nervoscope feels like two fingers gliding down your spine and indicates areas of swelling along your spine. Following the instrumentation, static and motion palpation is performed. This is simply feeling the bones of your spine for tenderness, swelling and fixation both in the neutral position and also through specific movements. Ladies, gowns will be provided that open only wide enough in the back for your spine to be examined.

Are X-Rays Necessary?

Following this examination, it will be determined if X-rays are needed. The x-rays taken in our office are full spine, standing, weight bearing x-rays. These x-rays allow the doctor's to determine the condition of your spine and gather all necessary information in order to maximize your spinal care. By having these x-rays it eliminates all guess work and allows us to provide excellent care. Remember, to see is to know, not to see is to guess, and here at Family Chiropractic Center we will never guess with your health.

The Doctor Asks some important questions of interest to Twinsburg residents - Chiropractor Twinsburg The Doctor Asks...

Why is a "slipped disc" unlikely?
Separating each spinal vertebra is a disc. Its fibrous outer ring holds in a jelly-like material. Because of the way a disc attaches to the spinal bones above and below it, it can't actually "slip." However, a disc can bulge, tear, herniate, thin and collapse. But it can't slip.
What can a chiropractor do for asthma?
Many people think of chiropractic as exclusively dealing with the spine. But I'm interested in the spine because it covers the nervous system. Problems in the spine can produce problems in the organs and tissues controlled by the affected nerves—including those to the lungs and bronchial tubes. Find out how chiropractic care has helped those with asthma.
